Q. My boyfriend and I are due to get married
in February and having lived together for 2 years we dont really
need anything for the house present wise. We would like to ask
for money instead but are worried about offending people. We were
wondering how to go about this and if there were any little rhymes
we could pop into the invites that wouldnt be offensive but get
the point across.
A. Very difficult. Gift- lists are just starting
to become acceptable where once they were considered rude. Asking
for money is not quite there yet. The difficulty of buying for
the 'couple with everything' can be dealt with in different ways.
One particular travel agent offer gift vouchers to pay for the
honeymoon from guests, or maybe choose a store that you do regularly
use and ask for vouchers, that way you will have the money you
want for when you need it. If you want to know more about gift
lists in general, give me a call to discuss it.
