Send off and order lots of brochures, samples and pricelists
before choosing your supplier. Don't just settle for the
first one that arrives. Ask your friends for good recommendations.
Think about having the menus for the wedding meal printed
in the same style as the invitations, place cards and Orders
of Service.
Visit suppliers where possible and get a feel for their
quality of work.
Before ordering place cards from the stationer, check with
your reception venue to see if place cards are included
in their charges.
Find out about the supplier's charging policy if you should
need a few extra copies of invitations, place cards or orders
of service. Will they regard any extras as a new order?
Will they charge the additions at the same rate as the existing
order?
The quantity of invitations should allow for any last minute
changes of the guest list.
A rule of thumb is to order one invitation per household
invited - a household can be a couple or a single person-
and an extra half dozen as spares.
When ordering the Order of Service, remember to allow extra
numbers for the marriage officiant and anyone else who will
attend the wedding service.
