Get fit for your wedding day
Wear your wedding dress and be confident that your
upper body - your arms, back, chest and shoulders - are toned and
shapely. The following exercises focus on the body parts that most
wedding dresses show. Add to the following 8 exercises, 30 minutes
of aerobic work such as cycling, jogging, or rowing, and you will
see a noticeable difference about 10 sessions.
Start with 30 minutes of aerobic exercise, then complete
3 sets of 10 repetitions of each exercise, finding a weight that
you can feel pushes you during the second set.
Bent over row
Standing up, bend you legs and bend over so that your back is flat
and your arms are hanging to the floor holding the weight (either
barbell as shown or dumbbells). Lift the weight up to your chest
then slowly lower back down to the start, keeping your back in the
same position throughout the exercise.
Incline Flyes
Lie on a bench with the seat at between 30-45 degrees. Lift the
dumbbells above your chest palms facing each other; slowly take
your arms out to the side with a slight bend at each elbow lowering
your arms to the floor. When your hands are level with your chest
bring your hands back together to the starting position.
Overhead tricep press
Holding a weight in your hands take your arms over your head, then
lower the weight down behind your head and then straighten back
up again.
Side shoulder raise
Take the weight in each hand at your side and raise your arms so
they are parallel with the floor, then lower down.
Bicep curl
Sitting at a slight angle on a bench curl both hands up keeping
your elbows in at your sides, then lower down.
Back extension
Lying on your front on the floor, raise both your arms and legs
off the floor, and then slowly lower back down.
One leg sit up
Lie on your back with one foot on the floor and the other leg straight
out, as you curl your upper body off the floor, keeping your chin
of your chest, lift the straight leg up so your knees meet, then
lower back down. Keep your lower stomach pulled into your back at
all times.
